Our first visit on our pilgrimage took us to St Leonard's in the North End of Boston, MA. We had not originally planned to start here but David was called, early on Sunday morning, to the office in Providence for an emergency. So, we had to adjust our schedule and plans and started at St. Leonard"s. This is an amazingly beautiful church in the heart of the North End. You are surprised when you first enter and see all the beauty. As we began our pilgrimage of looking for Jesus in all the right places, we found Him all over this church. First off, the priest spoke of asking ourselves this question, "What drives you and what draws you?" It was particularly poignant for our family, and we were duly challenged. Our young adult children were with us and were pleasantly surprised by the significant number of young couples in attendance. We estimated that there were approximately 200-300 people at this Mass. The altar boy was extremely reverent and there were many around us devoutly worshipping God. As we left, we were warmly greeting by the priest, and he immediately knew we were not regular attendees. When our son explained that he lives in the area and that we had come to visit him, the priest"s response was, " So, your parents come to visit you and you bring them to Church? That's hysterical!" As is God's way, although this is not where we had planned to begin our pilgrimage, He put us in just the right place! God is so very good!
