Worship Style - Contemporary Online
This was the last week of our pilgrimage! We had saved TV Church for bad weather or sickness. By the grace of God, we did not encounter either during the entire pilgrimage. However, the day after Christmas we suffered an extreme loss of one of our parents. So it was perfect for this Sunday following Christmas. Our family was all together snuggled in the family room worshipping God and comforting each other in our loss.
LifeChurch.tv's mission is to lead people to become fully devoted followers of Christ. Their website states the following: 'A church isn't a building - it's the people. We meet in locations around the United States and globally online." You are able to watch services live or on demand. There are notes available that you can print out, and there is contemporary music at the beginning. They also have life groups and missions that you can join.
We viewed a service entitled, "First Things First." This was about setting priorities for the New Year. What does the Bible tell us about setting priorities? It was broken down into four parts.
1) First of the day: Seek God
Scripture references: Psalm 63:1 (NKJV), Mark 1:35
2) First of the week: Worship
Scripture references: Acts 20:7, Hebrews 10:25 (NIV)
3) First of the month: Tithe
Scripture references: Leviticus 27:30, 2 Corinthians 9:7
4) First of the year: Fast
Scripture references: Galatioans 5:16-17, Joel 1:14, Matthew 6:17-18
Each priority was addressed and elaborated on, and this sermon is available online if you would like more detail.
At the beginning of the sermon, we were asked this question: What kind of year was this for you spiritually? WOW! We obviously have articulated that in all the pages of this blog. However, we were reminded of this most important Scripture as we begin the year 2015: "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well." Matthew 6:33. We begin the New Year seeking His Kingdom!
